rainy day garden

There’s nothing like a rainy day to make every color in the garden more vibrant. Let’s take a little tour, shall we?

The yellows and purples and blues are really shining:

Some more color-coordination:

And these mushrooms popped up in my stock tank planter and were nice enough to blend right in:

Meanwhile, front patio area is finally filling in in leaps and bounds, thanks to the rain. This is how I’d hoped it would look for the tour:

Snake in the rain:

The bathing-obsessed blue jay stopped by and I caught him on video:

I hope you all are enjoying this fabulous rain & unexpectedly cool & wonderful spring!

This rainy weekend has been wonderful! The orange and yellows are so bright and vibrant with the background of green and silver foliage. Your garden looked beautiful for the tour. Mr. Jay is sure enjoying this weather.

    • Thanks, Shirley! I just wish we’d gotten some of that magical water from the sky before the tour– plants have literally doubled in size since you’ve been here. And Mr. Jay is bath-obsessed. I have never seen a bird so obsessed with bathing in my life. And he doesn’t even care if you’re sitting on the porch 15 feet away! Killer has actually gotten used to it and doesn’t even pay attention.

Your garden is lovely. I especially love the daylillies. Those mushrooms are pretty cool too, couldn’t even see them in the first photo.

  3. Beautiful!
We have had some of those mushrooms. They open up like little umbrellas.

Well it’s been cooler this spring, but no rain here in Tucson…rats!

He finally just dived in, didn’t he? Cute! Your garden looks fantastic, and I still love that snake in the path.

  6. Snake in the garden is especially dreamy. Thanks for the beauty!
